Indian Boiler Regulations – 1950

IBR - "Indian Boiler Regulations" are Indian regulation for boilers and related equipment. The regulation was established on August 15, 1950 in order to meet legislative requirements stipulated by the law, so-called Indian Boiler Act 1923.

Manufacturers and suppliers of boilers, parts thereof, materials and related equipment intended for the Indian market shall ensure compliance with the requirements of the IBR – Indian Boiler Regulation (IBR), which stipulates requirements for design, materials, production, testing and certification. None of the aforementioned equipment could be placed on the Indian market, unless all the relevant IBR requirements had been met, and the relevant certificate, so-called IBR Form had been issued and confirmed by the appointed body - "Inspecting Authority".
